ARE YOU WILLING TO PAY EXTRA TO HAVE YOUR BINS EMPTIED?

Charged to have your bin emptied?

Tuesday May 26,2009

STRUGGLING home owners may soon be forced to pay to have their bins emptied - on top of soaring council tax bills.

Supporters of the bin tax say it would encourage people to recycle more waste and help protect the environment.

But campaigners claim it would be the thin end of the wedge, with councils adopting the policy as a way of raising millions in extra revenue by back-door methods.

And a leading Tory MP last night warned that the plans would not increase recycling but lead to a rise in fly-tipping.

SO WOULD YOU PAY EXTRA TO HAVE YOUR BINS EMPTIED?

DO YOU THINK IT WOULD BE WORTH IT TO HELP THE ENVIRONMENT?

DO YOU PAY THE COUNCIL ENOUGH ALREADY?

HAVE YOUR SAY!

PAYING EXTRA TO HAVE BINS EMPTIED

10.06.09, 2:22pm

No i'm not willing to pay extra i think they have a cheek on top of what we are already charged.
I would rather take it to the tip myself than pay them the extra amount. They are being very greedy and unfair. The taxes are constantly going up and then they are charging in other ways as well what a cheek.

PAY EXTRA TO HAVE BINS EMPTIED

31.05.09, 3:48pm

Do we not already pay enough in council tax? Under this corrupt, neo-communist dictatorship, council tax has pretty much doubled. I think that all this will lead to an increase in fly-tipping and back-yard bonfires. I personally think that it is time to take a stand against this blatant money-grabbing and I urge a campaign of civil disobedience: i.e., dump your waste at the door of your local town hall, or on the driveway of your local authority leader. If the "bin police" issue a fine for over-filling your bin or putting it out on the wrong day, simple - don't pay it. They can't fine or imprison us all. Where the hell is your fighting spirit? The time has come to show Gordon "is a ****" Brown that we will not be bullied. The people of Romania stood up to Ceausescu, and look what happened to him. Don't just cave in, FIGHT BACK.

PAYING EXTRA FOR BINS BEING EMPTIED

30.05.09, 11:28am

What exactly do we pay are council taxes for the list of services grow shorter and shorter ,my own opinion is that all the extra money being demanded is to pay exorbitant wages to people for jobs that do nothing to enhance my life and also paying into a fund to allow a growing number of fat cats in the council to retire with a big pension for which they pay little .I think that at the same time as enquiries are going on with regard to expenses in parliment we should also look in to the amount of money we are paying to local government it seems the case that councils instead of being the servents of the people are now the masters with there incessant demand for more and more of our hard earned cash .

It's about the only 'service' I receive from my council, already paid for. That should answer this redundant question.

TOO RIGHT !

Our education system is 2 tiered
And this is not a private/ state tier
It depends where you live
If you live in an area where there are low expectations then expect that to extend to the local school.
Some schools have terrible times trying to educate children that are neglected at home
We have a socialist govt
Yet they have systematically neglected social need for over a decade
So much for education ....education.......education...

And what about the bins ?
And what about the soaring council tax bills ?
And what about the GREED and EXPENSE CLAIMING that exists in our local council chiefs ?
Lets have some information on those expense claims.
