BRITNEY WHIPS UP A STORM

Over a year ago the troubled singer suffered a series of public setbacks ending up with the mother-of-two being sectioned, but last night she showed the crowd she was the Circus ringmaster.

A fighting-fit Spears, 27, wowed the audience in the first of her eight sell-out shows at London’s O2 Arena with no hint of a poor performance.

In a reference to her past troubles Spears was even confident enough to belt out a number trapped behind the bars of a circus van, a reminder that it was not so long ago that she was being locked up for real.

Spears’ Circus show is set to carry on rolling across Europe over the summer.
