Hahnemann, 37, has been signed by manager Mick McCarthy to bring experience to a young team, meaning that Hennessey’s No1 status is under threat.
“I am open and I am honest. I just can’t wait for the season to come,” said the 22-year-old Hennessey.
“I want to play in the Premier League, it’s everybody’s dream. There had been talk that another goalkeeper might be coming in at Wolves.
“If I lost my place I’d be fed up, but you’ve got to take it.
“It will be up to the manager to make the decision on who plays. But I know that I want it.”
