SHOWBIZDEF LEPPARD GET NEW YORK DAY HONOUR
Thursday June 25,2009 DEF LEPPARD will be the toast of a small New York town on Friday (26Jun09) after the British rockers were honoured with their own day.
On Monday (22Jun09), officials in Hamburg, New York voted in favour of proclaiming Friday Def Leppard Day. Bandmembers Phil Collen and Rick Savage will be the centre of attention when they sign autographs for fans ahead of their concert in the town that evening, and councillors are confident the day honour will put Hamburg on the map. Supervisor Steven J. Walters says, "It's a great opportunity to showcase the town."
