Connery slams BBC

Actor SEAN CONNERY has slammed the BBC - for prioritising music over movie coverage.

The movie legend is patron for the Edinburgh International Film Festival which concluded on Sunday (28Jun09) in Scotland.

He was shocked to discover that the annual event was not being covered by the broadcasters - while the organisation sent 300 workers to this weekend's (26-28Jun09) legendary music festival Glastonbury in south-west England.

Connery told the assembled crowd, "Not one (BBC technician) at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. It affects us all, it certainly affects me, and I think we should do something about it."

Bosses at the BBC responded, saying, "BBC news outlets covered the Edinburgh International Film Festival on radio, TV and online. Obviously Glastonbury is a huge live music, arts and performance event and cannot be compared as like for like."
