ZOLA: Target

Tuesday July 14,2009

By Alex Steels

Gianfranco Zola is convinced on-loan Chile forward Luis Jimenez can give West Ham something extra in attack next season – but could yet move for old team-mate Eidur Gudjohnsen.

Jimenez, 25, joined up with the group for the first time since sealing a season-long loan from Inter Milan. And Zola believes he can prove a real asset with striker Dean Ashton still on the recovery trail from his long injury lay-off .

“Jimenez will give us something extra especially in the last 30 metres,” he said .

Zola, who is also interested in Gudjohnsen, added: “We are trying to spot what our weaknesses are. Certainly we need to improve up front.”
