ORGANIC FOOD NO HEALTHIER

I would doubt the motives of the author of this report. My personal experience is to the contrary and I know that many organic fruits and vegetables are superior in flavour and nutrition. I would never buy geneticall modified food. Some foods are worse than others in being contaminated with pesticides and therfore from this respect there is some marginality in difference between organic and non-organic; but there are league tables for such, if it is not common sense

THE DAFT ASSUMPTIONS SOME MAKE

If the various chemicals used on crops and animal feeds really is so detrimental as a few suggest, how on earth do we poor mortals who avoid overpriced organic food price hikes survive?
I believe that all this concern for organic food is just a faddy type of hypocondria. Of course some types of food are more nuntritious than others but the report clearly shows that there is no difference in the health of those who eat normal food (chemicals included) and those who spend a lot more money to eat organic produce. Bandwagons roll and picky people like to think they are buying healthy foods so go ahead waste your money. My only concern is that the rest of us can easily find the ordinary food we prefer and not be indoctrinated and influenced by daft bandwagons. Sainsbury's propensity to sell hyped organics, fair trade and free range produce is fine as long as there is plenty of ordinary produce to choose from.

IT'S A NO BRAINER

Organic food no healthier than conventional, toxic-sprayed ones? I don't know what vested interestts (there usually are) are behind this anti-organic report, but common sense states that foods NOT sprayed with poisonous chemicals MUST be better for you than the standard, toxin-saturated ones that the chemical companies would have you believe were necessary.
You got to remember, fruits and plants survived and thrived for millions of years before the drug/chemical industry saw a way of making a million kings' ransoms by spraying all our foods.
So, if any one you want to believe that the chemically-soaked foods are as good as organic, you really DO need educated.

Well for the likes of 'codeblue' who do not understand the reasons for organic milk--the cows are fed on pastures not crop-sprayed with chemicals and are fed un-crop-sprayed grain not ground down animal bones and chemicals with antibiotics.
Foodstuffs including eggs from chickens raised au naturel are likewise not contaminated with stuffs which we humans absorb into our systems.
Other studies prove higher nutrients in organic foods because the soil is natural and superior in quality. No flies on them -excuse the pun.
Costs are higher due to more stringent rules than for the vested interests groups backed by supporters of non-organic and GM foods for example.

SMOKE AND MIRRORS

Organic food the biggest con going, designed for middle class housewives with too much time and money on their hands.
Another con global warming and renewable energy, all this country needs to do is use energy more efficiently, just drive around London or any city at night and you will see buildings lit up like xmas trees with nobody in them, illuminated facades burning tens of kW's for the aesthetic value of the architecture, total lunacy, and the government has the nerve to tell us not to leave the TV on standby.
Then we have wind turbines and solar panels that will never pay for themselves or give us what we need when we need it. All of this goes to prove the power of marketing, selling something no one really needs or wants by giving it social status:god bless the Joneses
