POLICE have taken the unusual step of naming this 16-year-old as a suspect in a gangland killing.

Moses Mathias is wanted in connection with the shooting dead of Guiseppe Gregory outside a pub in Stretford, Greater Manchester, on May 11 this year.

Huge photos of the wanted teenager are being beamed on a big screen in Piccadily Gardens in central Manchester today, and police are also offering a £15,000 reward for information to help them track down Mathias.

He is from south Manchester, but police believe he may have fled to the Midlands area.

Detectives have warned the public not to approach him if they know his whereabouts.

Giuseppe, 16, from Ardwick, Manchester was shot in the head as he sat in a VW Golf in the car park of the Robin Hood pub in Stretford.

Det Supt Paul Rumney of Greater Manchester Police, said: “We need to speak to Moses urgently. If anyone knows him or his whereabouts, you must get in touch immediately.

“We’re so keen to speak to him that we have taken the unusual step of naming a boy who is under 18 and we are offering the reward to anyone who can tell us where he is staying - that’s all you need to do.

“Any information we receive will be treated sensitively and nobody need know who you are.

“I’d also like to appeal directly to Moses or anyone who may be supporting him at the moment - if you see or hear this, call us.

“Giuseppe’s murder left his family and friends absolutely devastated and we will not rest until those responsible are brought to justice.”
