NEWTON FELL IN LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

Story Image

Friday November 6,2009

THANDIE NEWTON believes in love at first sight - she dumped a boyfriend immediately after meeting her future husband OL PARKER.

The RocknRolla star was pursued by a string of men as a young woman, but admits she didn't understand what true love was until she met Parker on a film set.

She tells Britain's InStyle magazine, "He wrote a screenplay called In Your Dreams that I filmed in 1997. It's very unusual to have writers around on set because directors don't want them there. But they love having Ol around. He was on set every day and I fell madly in love with him...

"I'd never experienced that before. Up until then, my relationships had always been more based on people wanting to be with me. When I met Ol, I was dating a really sweet, lovely man and I had to leave him straight away, even though I wasn't even going out with Ol!

"But as soon as I met Ol, it kind of cut off any other blood vessels to anywhere else. We got married about two years later; we've just had our 11th wedding anniversary."

Parker and Newton are parents to daughters Ripley and Nico.
