PATSY’S SAGE ADVICE – TO SELF

The Holby City star has been married four times, to Dan Donovan of Big Audio Dynamite, Jim Kerr of Simple Minds, Liam Gallagher of Oasis and DJ and record producer Jeremy Healy, formerly singer with Eighties’ band Haysi Fantaysie.

But in a new charity book Dear Me – A Letter To My 16-year-old Self, the actress, 41, advises teenage Patsy to steer clear of marrying rock idols.

“You adore music more than anything in the world, you have a great passion,” she writes. “But that doesn’t mean you had to marry the lead singer of every band you ever had a poster of on your bedroom wall. Love, your older you.” Wise words, Patsy.

In the same book, Oscar-winning actress Emma Thompson orders her younger self never to go on a diet. She says sagely: “You’ll end up the same size anyway, so drop it now. I cannot tell you how much time and energy you’ll save and how much happier you’ll be.”
