PRINCE CHARLES AND PRINCESS ANNE CHILD PHOTOS FOR AUCTION

The informal black and white snaps, found in a fading photo- wallet by the family of a former Royal Protection Officer, show the then Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip sharing family moments with King George VI, Queen Elizabeth – later the Queen Mother – Princess Margaret, two-year-old Charles and baby Anne.

Experts think the snaps, including one of Charles sitting on a stag statue at Balmoral and another of Anne with her mother and Margaret, were taken in 1951 by the bodyguard and Palace officials.

The photos, to be sold in Colchester, Essex, on Tuesday, are conservatively valued at £50 but could fetch much more.

Auctioneer James Grinter said: “They are a charming set of informal photographs.”
