SARAH JESSICA PARKER: ANGUISH OVER BARRY CARPENTER AND MICHELLE ROSS TRIAL

Story Image

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick wanted to keep surrogacy details secret

Thursday November 19,2009

As the trial kicks off in the US of policeman Barry Carpenter accused of peddling items stolen from Michelle Ross, surrogate mother for Hollywood actress Sarah Jessica Parker, a celebrity photographer has described dealings with the accused.

New York snapper Justin Steffman told an Ohio court that suspended cop Barry Carpenter claimed he had access to a contract between Ross and the Sex And The City star, baby-scan images and a cast of Michelle’s stomach.

Sarah Jessica, 44, and husband Matthew Broderick, 47, had hoped to keep surrogacy details under wraps and were horrified when it emerged that Carpenter and fellow officer Chad Dojack had been accused of plotting to sell the items .

Carpenter’s lawyer insists he was only jokingabout having access to her home.

Carpenter could face more than 20 years in prison. Dojack will stand trial in January .

Michelle gave birth to twin girls Marion and Tabitha in June after SJP and Broderick failed to conceive a sibling for their six-year-old son James.
