Camilla Dallerup says Katie Price looked after her in the I'm A Celebrity jungle

Sunday November 22,2009

By David Stephenson

KATIE Price has won the accolade “St Jordan” after looking after stricken Camilla Dallerup on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

Dallerup, who left the jungle after just two days, told how Price comforted her when she was suffering fatigue and depression in the middle of the night and helped take her to the doctor.

Dallerup, who was mentally and physically exhausted from the experience, said: “I know everyone is calling it The Katie Price Show but we are seeing a completely different side. She was so nice and helped me when I needed it. I don’t know what I would have done without her.”

The Danish-born dancer, 35, who will become “Mrs Motivator” on GMTV next year, wants to set the record straight.

Dallerup said: “I had a couple of nights with no sleep because I was under a berry tree which kept dropping its fruit like bullets. I also had the smoke from the fire in my face. I went into the booth to talk to the producer.

“I was feeling so unwell that all I could do was cry, which is hideous because I hate whingeing in the first place.”

During Dallerup’s ordeal, Price entered the jungle for a second time. She said of her: “We talked about Katie before she came in. We decided that given everything that was in the press, we would just try to welcome her. We said, ‘She’s a human being like the rest of us and we only know her from what we read in the papers. Let’s just see what she’s like’.”

The public has voted for Price to do five Bushtucker trials in the reality show, prompting her to threaten to quit. Dallerup said we have seen a “new, vulnerable side to Katie”. “She was very sweet to me. She could tell that I wasn’t feeling very well and said to me, ‘Listen, I’m a mum and I know what it’s like. I can wake up in the night no problem because my children wake too. So if you feel unwell, just wake me’.

“Katie was jet-lagged. She’d just arrived, just met me and she didn’t have to be nice. I actually did go and wake her in the night because I felt very unwell and she got out of bed and went to the doctor with me.

“We really saw a new side to Katie, a lovely, lovely girl, a woman who’s a mother and who cares for people. But I think sometimes she puts on a brave face, the Jordan brave face without tears, but she’s such a vulnerable girl underneath.”

Set to marry Hollyoaks actor Kevin Sacre next year, Dallerup said the experience wasn’t completely miserable:

“We had so much laughter. It was a riot but you didn’t see any of this. It’s sad you didn’t get to see how much fun I had as well. All you got to see was someone who had gone into shock.”

So did she regret going into the jungle?

Dallerup says: “No, I loved it. I got to meet some amazing people and I would have gone on had it not been for the medical advice to leave.”

KATIE PRICE IS GOOD VALUE AND AN OUTSTANDING ENTERTAINMENT

22.11.09, 7:43am

Katie Price has got herself to where she is by using what she has.

Good for her

She is an outstanding horsewomen amongst her many other talents.

I know she could do with some elocution lessons but perhaps that is part of her charm.

But hey, the media won't leave her alone so she must have something special.

Go on Katie keep up the good work, your only detractors are a few sour faced females who have bee stings and would not know one end from the other in the bedroom.

Keep it up and I am told you ALSO care!
