RIHANNA FORCED TO CHANGE ALBUM TITLE

Story Image

Wednesday November 25,2009

RIHANNA was forced to change the title of her new album following an outcry from retail bosses - because the record's title was too racy.

The R&B singer wanted to embrace her new, edgy image by calling the CD Such a F**king Lady - but the controversial title didn't go down well with some of America's top stores.

Rihanna was forced to rethink her plans and renamed the album Rated R after retail bosses refused to stock a record with such an explicit name.

She says in an interview on U.S. TV show Fuse, "I actually wanted to name my album, Such a F**king Lady, but a couple of stores, a couple of major outlets didn't allow that... That was the title for a while, but Rated R made more sense because of the overall story. It's a movie really, the album. But Such a F**king Lady - we take everything back to that - especially in our style."
