Beware sexual band craze

TEACHERS and parents were yesterday urged to be “vigilant” to prevent the spread of a crude school craze.

The sensation sweeping primaries in England involves bright wristbands worn by fashion-conscious children.

However, they are  nicknamed ‘shag bands’ and anybody who snaps one is supposed to carry out a forfeit, ranging from a hug to sex acts.

The bands are freely available in High Street pound shops.

Des McNulty, the Shadow Education Secretary, said “Teachers and parents have to be vigilant, so these band are not used as an excuse for behaviours which we wouldn’t wish to see.”

And Liz Smith, Scottish Tory education spokeswoman, said: “It is not something that has any place in young people’s lives.”
