GORDON RAMSAY'S DAUGHTERS ICE-COLD OVER PUFFIN KILL

Tough-talking Gordon Ramsay, 43, came under fire last year when he was filmed catching the bird in Iceland, ripping out its heart and eating it raw with salt and pepper then barbecuing the remains.

The distressing scenes led to an investigation by Ofcom. However his fiercest critics were waiting for him at home. Ramsay admits the scenes left his three daughters Megan, 11, Holly, nine, and Matilda, seven, distraught because they go to bed with the cuddly toy versions of the bird.

“We were in Iceland where for six months a year the country depends on searching for these puffins,” he said in an interview in the US. “But I didn’t realise how much I’d upset my daughters. Jesus, they didn’t talk to me for two weeks. I didn’t realise but they’ve got puffins at the end of their beds and they were upset.”

He added: “To prove in Reykjavik that you’re a proper man, you sort of rip open the heart, add a little bit of salt and pepper, and you eat it. But I felt sick afterwards.”
