England Under-19 whizzkid Victor Moses is the saviour they hope to sell for £3million to stop them going bust.

Barcelona lead a string of clubs tracking the youngster, including Wigan and Tottenham. And Palace are desperate to strike a deal to help ease a cash crisis, which threatens to send them into administration.

The player’s agent, Tony Finnigan, said he would be “very, very surprised” if Moses doesn’t move in this month’s transfer window.

“People seem surprised Barcelona have watched Victor, but there are plenty of other clubs interested in him too,” he said.

Chairman Simon Jordan is also desperate to sell the club after twice being unable to pay his players’ wages on time this season. Palace are also trying to persuade former Birmingham boss David Gold to abandon his dream of taking over West Ham to rescue them.

And a US company, employed by Jordan to find £7.5m of investment, is thought to have recommended selling five players.
