BATTLE OF THE BRAINS: HOW WOMEN ARE WINNING

Trivial Pursuit battle: Currently women are ahead by 10,000

Thursday January 14,2010

By Daily Express reporter

WOMEN have always insisted they are more intelligent than men – and now it seems they are about to prove it once and for all.

For the past three months, millions of men and women across the world have being taking part in an internet version of the popular board game Trivial Pursuit. The women’s team took an early lead only for the men to launch a comeback.

Now the teams’ positions are changing on a daily basis, with the fairer sex currently 10,000 ahead.

Sports presenter Kirsty Gallacher said: “Boys versus girls is the oldest battle of all time. This is a great way to reveal how much you actually know and reveal your inner genius. Of course, girls are most likely to win... bring it on boys.”

Since the game launched at trivialpursuitexperiment.com last October, more than 11 million questions have been put to male and female players in nine languages.

Now Trivial Pursuit are asking more people to join the challenge before it ends next month when the smartest sex will be announced.

Katreena Lines, marketing manager of Trivial Pursuit, said: “The score is so close at the moment that every correct answer counts.”

History questions have been the most popular, chosen by 21 per cent of players, followed by science and nature and entertainment. Arts and literature questions are the least popular, chosen by just 11 per cent.

Trivial Pursuit was invented in 1979 by two Canadians. Having sold more than 88 million sets in 26 countries, it has become one of the most popular board games of all time.

I'VE NEVER BEEN IN DOUBT

14.01.10, 10:26am

Behind every successful man you will find a clever woman,My wife was the brains behind our relationship, constantly offering sound advice when needed, when it came to decisions I was headstrong, ready to explode if challenged, she was thoughtful, able to see all aspects of a problem. I'm a Widower now and miss her so much, she was definitely cleverer than me.
