 EVERBODY HURTS HAITI SINGLE - FIRST LISTEN HERETuesday February 2 2010
THE Live Aid-style single in aid of Haiti earthquake victims was given its first airing this morning. The star-studded cover version of REM song Everybody Hurts to raise money for the victims of the Haiti earthquake was debuted on both the radio and the internet at 8am. Featuring vocals from the likes of Robbie Williams, Leona Lewis and Susan Boyle, the charity single was recorded in London and Los Angeles. Boyband JLS, pop star Cheryl Cole, veteran rocker Rod Stewart and singers Mariah Carey and Kylie Minogue also appear on the track.
Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles told listeners this morning: "It doesn't matter whether you like it or not it's just what it's all about." The single - which has been spearheaded by pop and TV mogul Simon Cowell - will be released for download on Sunday and hit the shops the following day. Up to 200,000 people died in the magnitude 7.0 earthquake on January 12, with hundreds of thousands more left injured and homeless. LISTEN TO THE SONG NOW BY CLICKING PLAY ON THE VIDEO ABOVE
