Floods have claimed millions of homes

Saturday August 4,2007

UP to 20million people were homeless last night as monsoon rains continued to cause destruction across southern Asia.

Floods in India, Bangladesh and Nepal have already claimed the lives of at least 216 people after swollen rivers burst their banks.

Troops were deployed yesterday to help in the evacuation of more than 500 villages in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

“At least 12 people, mostly children and women, have died in the past 24 hours,” said a police spokesman in Lucknow, the state capital. Helicopters were used to bring in food but supplies were reported to be running low.

WHO THE HELL CARES

They never have a whip round when we have problems in UK, I'm sick of being asked to pay for problems & natural disasters around the world, either from my taxes in the form of International aid, of from the host of charities that always spring up.

I have enough problems of my own paying through the nose for "services" supposedly provided by this cr@p government. It would be nice if the average Brit in this country got value for money.

I suppose we have 20 million "refugees" headed this way, invited by the Libour party, seeking voters.
