DANCING ON ICE: HEATHER MILLS SKATES OFF

Paul McCartney’s ex-wife Heather Mills, 42, lost out in the skate-off to Hollyoaks actor Kieron Richardson, 24.

Dancing On Ice judges said the decision “couldn’t be closer” and praised both celebrities for the progress they had made.

But they voted four to one in favour of keeping Kieron.

Heather, who has an artificial leg, appeared resigned to her fate before the final dance telling host Phillip Schofield she thought she was “on the way” out.

After her defeat the former model thanked those who had supported her. She had struggled with her prosthetic leg in previous weeks.

But she seemed pleased that her skating had given encouragement to others.

She said: “I’m so excited that all the kids who have written in that have lost limbs are now going out to skate.” Nine couples are left.
