MILLIONS of Britons are gambling with their future by hoping for a lottery win or an inheritance to fund their retirement, a study has found.

Nearly half of us have not given any thought to how we will cope financially when we stop working.

Instead of putting money into a pension or savings account, more than a third are relying on an inheritance windfall and one in 10 is hoping for a big lottery win.

Six per cent even plan to marry someone rich to keep them in comfort in old age, while others simply plan to keep on working.

The study of 3,000 Britons was carried out by savings and pensions provider Skandia.

Spokeswoman Michelle Cracknell said: “It’s worrying to think that so many people are relying on things like inheritance and big money wins to help them when they stop work.”

When children grow up in a family where no one actually works they think life is free !

It wasn’t me who suggested that anyone would slash the state pension. You were the first person to mention that. I don’t think anyone considers the state pension to be a benefit.

Sorry Marigold but these two sentences seem to oppose each other.

The cutting of benefits is not paramount

What is paranount to the health of the nation is the streamlining of the dependancy culture

We are breeding a generation of fatherless children that know nothing of pride and self respect

I don’t class a state pension as a “benefit” and I doubt that many do.

However a lot of pensioners received benefits to cover council tax, rent etc. I don’t suggest that state pensions would be cut by YBF/TORY/UKIPO/BNP etc (unless you know something we don’t), but their supporters seem hell bent on cutting benefits.

If this government don't get in, how the hell can any other lot slash £107,They can slash immigration, they can slash £2500 a month to a Somali scrounger, they can slash Millions a month in Euro payments, far easier than they can slash my pension, so don't talk such f----ing nonsense and get your head out you Doughnut.
