The singer, 42, told chat show host Jonathan Ross she felt “almost overwhelmed” when fans from around the globe started to offer messages of support and added that this had helped her enormously.

Now, to celebrate her recovery, Kylie confirmed that she will at last make her Glastonbury debut this weekend. She was due to make it in 2005 but had to cancel when she discovered that she had the disease.

“You’re facing darkness,” Kylie said of the moment the news of her cancer started to sink in. If you want to go away from that you have to reach out and find positive things. Whatever hope or help I can give to people in similar circumstances, I want to spread that message.”

Kylie said that while cancer certainly took its toll on her, she was most worried about her parents Ronald and Carol. “The goodness I felt coming in my direction, I almost felt overwhelmed by it,” she said.

“But I felt so bad for my mum and dad because they felt so helpless. The pressure on them was incredible.”

Things are now looking better than ever for the star who has a new album out and a handsome Spanish male model boyfriend, Andres Velencoso, 32. “He’s gorgeous,” she said of her new beau.

And continuing her love of Spain, she said tapas was her favourite food. “I would have faded away were it not for my local Spanish restaurant,” she said before performing her new single, All The Lovers.
