Scarlett Johansson wants to adopt
More Hollywood stars including Scarlett Johansson have announced they want to adopt a child from a Third World country.
Lost In Translation star Scarlett Johansson, 25, and her actor husband Ryan Reynolds last week revealed plans to adopt a child from Ethiopia or Liberia.
Friends actress Jennifer Aniston has suggested she may adopt a child from Mexico, while her ex-husband Brad Pitt and his partner Angelina Jolie are said to be “in the process” of adding a fourth adoptee to their brood of six.
Johansson and 33-year-old Reynolds say they intend to adopt at least one child before having their own babies.
However international aid agencies are urging celebrities to think twice. Save the Children’s Daniela Reale insisted: “There is strong evidence that the best place for any child is in his or her home country.”
