£50M: MCLAREN PAY PRICE OVER CAR WARS
Lewis Hamilton
By Bob McKenzie
LEWIS Hamilton is free to drive for the Formula One title but at a cost of £50million to his team after McLaren were hit with the biggest fine in sporting history.
The Englishman can carry on chasing his dream, but a second “trial” in F1’s spy row found McLaren guilty of
having leaked Ferrari information in their possession.
They were hit with a huge fine, had their constructors’ title points for this season wiped out and told that they can score no more points for the rest of the year.
The FIA took into account the value of the points already won by McLaren, who led that constructors’ race, and that means the team must pay ‘only’ £25m.
“I do not accept that we deserved to be penalised in this way.” said McLaren’s team boss Ron Dennis after a 10-hour hearing.
Ferrari, vehement over stolen technical documents, said: “We are satisfied the truth has now come out.”
"INTIMINDATED INTO FAVOURING FERRARI"

This is a good example of the FIA being intimindated into favouring FERRARI.

What a way of getting the opposition out of the way, 1st you send them some secret onfo and then 2nd accuse them of stealing it and 3rd keep pushing the issue until you get your own way. Well Ferrari to the rest of the world you have not earned your constructors championship this year. Who came up with the idea I wonder, Schuey? maybe?
