Mario Machado, 34, who came to Britain from Angola in the 1990s, must serve more than three years in jail after enticing the vulnerable teenager into his bed.

Machado was already married to a British woman and had fathered a child when he met the teenager at a party.

David Brooke, prosecuting, said the girl knew Machado as “Joseph”.

Days later he arranged to pick up the girl and four female friends and took them to his house on a notorious council estate in Sheffield, South Yorks, where he cooked them a meal.

As they were leaving he thrust cash at them to thank them for spending time with him.

Weeks later the 15-year-old turned up on his doorstep asking if there was any way she could get some more money.

Machado invited her inside and plied her with alcohol before asking her if she would clean his house. As she was starting on the bathroom he strolled in and offered her £45 for sex.

The teenager returned by taxi with a friend a few weeks later but Machado had fled and the house was boarded up.

The taxi driver overheard the girls gossiping in graphic detail about the sexual encounter and was so angered he drove them straight to a police station to report it.

After his arrest two years ago, Machado’s wife told police he was a vicious bully who had subjected her to a vicious campaign of physical and mental abuse. The court was told he would explode in jealous rages, punching and kicking her and threatening that if she reported him he would get “his boys” on to her. She said she lived in fear for her life.

Of the under-age sex case, Matthew Grooves, defending, said Machado thought the girl was over 16, the age of consent.

But Machado, now living in London, pleaded guilty to paying for the sexual services of a child, and to harassing his wife.

He was jailed for a total of three years, six months at Sheffield Crown Court and a restraining order was issued preventing him from contacting his wife.

Last night one police source said they had never come across anyone with so many identities.

Machado had evaded capture for at least a decade.

Detectives feel they have yet to uncover the full extent of his duplicitous lifestyle.

Though an illegal, he has leave to remain here until January 2012 because he married an English girl and fathered a child.

But Home Office sources say he faces deportation upon his release from jail.
