A truly sickening decision

IF EVER anyone needed proof that Britain should break free of the human rights regime imposed on it from continental Europe, the case of Aso Mohammed Ibrahim provides it.

This failed Iraqi asylum-seeker has spread misery since arriving in 2001. His crimes culminated in him leaving

12-year-old girl Amy Houston dying under the wheels of a car he should not have been driving in the first place.

Yet he is to be allowed to stay in Britain so he can enjoy his right to a family life with his partner and their two young children.

As Amy’s father Paul Houston notes: “He was a criminal before, a criminal now and he will continue being a criminal.”

“You work hard, play by the rules, pay your taxes and this is how you get treated. What does that say about politicians, our leaders and the legal system?” asks a heartbroken Mr Houston.

The answers to his questions are not pretty.
