The Gavin & Stacey star is currently appearing in a production of One Man, Two Guvnors in London, but on Wednesday (25May11), he suffered blurred vision and headaches during rehearsals for the show.

He sought medical help at a hospital in the capital and theatre bosses feared they would have to axe Wednesday's performance after doctors diagnosed Corden with a damaged cornea.

Medics prescribed Corden a strong anaesthetic to numb the pain, and he took to the stage as planned, according to the Daily Mirror.

A source tells the publication, "James was really worried but, being a man, refused help. Eventually his co-stars persuaded him to get urgent medical attention.

"The pain did little to hinder his performance - and James got a standing ovation."
