Man, 93, dies after five raids on home
A HOME Guard veteran died after being burgled five times in 10 weeks – allegedly by the same tormentor.
Widower Leslie Ashton, 93, barricaded himself into his home of 67 years, boarding up his downstairs windows and having surveillance cameras installed.
A suspect was finally caught but the former MG car worker, who died of pneumonia last month, did not live to see him face justice.

During one break-in, Mr Ashton is believed to have staggered outside on a freezing night.
He was admitted to hospital, suffering from pneumonia, and died six days after the final burglary on January 8.
One neighbour in Sparkhill, Birmingham, said last night: “The break-ins had left him very shaken.”
Local councillor Tanveer Choudhry said: “It’s appalling that this can happen to somebody who served our country so well.”
A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “A 42-year-old man has been charged with burglary and theft.”
