The supermodel was guest of honour at the lighting ceremony and flicked the switch to illuminate the famous tower in honour of DKMS - the world's largest bone marrow donor centre.

Klum posted a picture of herself standing at the top of the Empire State on Twitter.com and told followers, "Lighting the Empire State Building red in honour of DKMS... Fight blood cancer... What a beautiful view of New York City from the top of the Empire State Building!!"
