Jools Holland in planning dispute
Musician JOOLS HOLLAND could be forced to tear down a medieval castle-style structure in the grounds of his home after he failed to obtain planning permission for its construction.
The former Squeeze star has erected a lavish stone walled garden, compete with turrets, in the shape of the Union flag at his mansion in Kent.
However, it has now emerged Holland failed to obtain permission from local authorities to build the structure, so he has applied for authorisation retrospectively.
If officials at Medway Council reject his request, he could be ordered to tear down the structure.
A council spokesman says, "The works that were carried out were undertaken by the owner on the assumption that planning permission was not required. He was subsequently advised that this was not correct and submitted a planning application."
In 2010, fellow musician Sir Cliff Richard was ordered to tear down a conservatory built on the side of his home in Surrey, after officials ruled the glass room had been erected without proper consent.
