MCGEADY IS UNPLAYABLE

Aiden McGeady

Thursday November 8,2007

By Iain Macfarlane

Paul Hartley reckons an on-form Aiden McGeady is simply "unplayable" and has the skill to terrify any defender in world football.

McGeady was yesterday basking in the glory of his best-ever Celtic performance as team-mates queued up to sing his praises.

Artur Boruc kicked off the tributes by declaring the Irish international can go on and become even better than Manchester United's superstar Criatiano Ronaldo.

Celtic skipper Stephen McManus believes that even the legendary Henrik Larsson couldn't lace his boots when it came to mesmerising skills.

And midfield ace Hartley is sure that the sky's the limit for the 21-year-old who has developed into a terrific team player as well as one of the most gifted players in Europe.

Hartley admitted: "With a player like McGeady in your side, anything is possible. He got more and more dangerous as the game went on.

"Aiden was just unplayable and I told him that in the dressing room after the game.

"It was one of the best wide performances I've ever seen. The best thing is that he's only going to get better.

"People used to moan about his end product - but every aspect of his game has been absolutely outstanding for the last six weeks.

"When you give him the ball in your own half, he has this great ability to take the whole team 60 or 70 yards up the park.

"He frightens defenders and they're just scared to tackle him.

"I was joking with him that his shot still needed a deflection to beat the keeper! But at least he's silenced the people who said he had no end product.

"And he's shown he is a top, top player. He can be as good as anybody and can go right to the top.

"I've seen a lot of talented kids in my time but he's the top youngster I've seen coming through.’
