The Beatles legend – who is trying to thrash out a divorce settlement with ex-wife Heather Mills – was pictured with Sony BMG boss Ged Doherty yesterday.

The pair were deep in conversation during rehearsals for tonight’s Brit Awards, where McCartney is to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award.

An insider tells us that Doherty, also chairman of the Brits, was very keen to have a quiet word with the star who quit EMI in 2006.
