Heather Mills is back on the market - we play Blind Date to find her perfect man

Sunday February 24,2008

By Marina Licht

IF YOU are an affluent American man aged between 45 and 60, be very afraid. Heather Mills could be after you.

The infamous former Mrs McCartney, who is set to receive a £55million settlement from Sir Paul, has apparently written a check-list for her perfect man.

Heather is aiming high. He must be younger than Sir Paul (not too hard, as he’s 65 and she’s a mere 40) but must definitely have his own wealth (after all, she’s in a prime position to appreciate the danger of gold-diggers).

He also has to be a vegetarian and be supportive of her various causes. And he must have good sense of humour and be happy to take on a “dynamic” woman.

She hasn’t ruled out having more children but would prefer it if her new man didn’t have his own – no doubt because she doesn’t have the greatest track record as a stepmother.

It might seem a little hasty for Heather to be contemplating another partner since she is fresh from the divorce courts but a friend says that Heather has been lonely for two years and is keen to start her new life as soon as possible.

Mick Jagger has dated many beautiful women - but is he too old for Mucca?

Dr Helen Nightingale, a consultant clinical psychologist, agrees it is not too soon for Heather to be writing her check-list. “The grieving period of a break-up is normally about six months,” she says.

“The process started around two years ago, so it is not too soon. I think the sooner she looks for someone the better because it will help her decide where she has made her own mistakes. A check-list is a good idea.

“Although we like to believe we will be swept off our feet, our rational decisions outlive our emotional ones.” So here are our top five contenders to win Heather’s heart – and tick all the boxes.

FLAVIO BRIATORE****
The flamboyant Italian has an eye for glamorous women, having dated the likes of Naomi Campbell and Heidi Klum,
with whom he has a daughter. Briatore, managing director of Renault Sport UK, is as astute at business as he is at romance.

He certainly has his own wealth. Still in his 50s, he also ticks her age requirement. And any man who can take on the formidable Ms Campbell must know all about difficult women.

When asked what he looks for in a woman, he said: “Somebody you have a lot of respect for. You need complicity with someone, to feel protected.” But Flavio doesn’t quite strike you as the type to be interested in vegetarianism or other New Age causes.

SEARCH for:

That said, you never know what the love of a good woman might persuade him to do.

MICK JAGGER*
After marrying a Beatle, Heather could seek her ultimate revenge by dating Rolling Stone Mick Jagger.

The iconic star, who has been married and linked to some of the world’s most beautiful women, including Bianca Jagger, Jerry Hall and the new First Lady of France, Carla Bruni, is definitely a ladies man. And she certainly wouldn’t have to worry about Mick being after her money.

Flavio Briatore is a good match and he has an eye for glamorous women

Poor Mick unfortunately doesn’t fit one of Heather’s requirements – he is 64. And he doesn’t have the best track record in relationships, admitting once: “I find it very difficult to be married.”

Another major stumbling block to their potential relationship is that he has been dating L’Wren Scott, a fashion stylist and former model, for some time.

SIMON COWELL***
Mr X Factor himself knows all about courting media attention. The remarkably successful music manager loves the
finer things and is often seen enjoying the good life at the Sandy Lane Hotel in Barbados.

Simon Cowell's biggest love could be himself

Not yet 50, Simon would definitely keep Heather on her toes, as although he’s known for his blunt opinions, he looks as if he definitely knows how to keep a woman interested.

With more than enough money in the bank, Heather wouldn’t have to worry about gold-digging either.

Another big advantage is that Simon is popular in America, where Heather is thought to be considering moving to.

There are a few problems, though. Simon is dating model Terri Seymour and Heather might also find that Simon’s greatest love is himself!

HUGH GRANT***
The film star and perennial bachelor is a complete contrast to Sir Paul and would win Heather over with his boyish charm and wit. He is also easy on the eye and only 47.

But there are flaws. Heather is no Jemima Khan, with whom Hugh has enjoyed an on/off relationship, and she would also have to contend with his other ex-girlfriend, Elizabeth Hurley, who remains influential.

SEAN PENN****
Once married to Madonna, so he has a proven ability to cope with strong women, and is also back on the singles scene after splitting from his wife, actress Robin Wright Penn, after 11 years.

Crucially in his favour is that he’s a wealthy American.

The fiesty gal in question is named Heather.

I am not surprised her marriage failed with all the opposition from family and public, also having Linda in every aspect of her life...even living in 'their' house.

There aren't many of us would have had the guts to go to a court and defend ourselves or bounced back from a very poor beginning and amputation.

The horrible names Heather has been called would have tipped a lesser person over the edge.

Paul would know fine well Heather had been a party girl when he married her.

She dislikes drinking and drugs, rather pleasing in this era but obviously not acceptable to some.

I think the splinters would put a lot of men off, I mean they could do a man a lot of damage could'nt they. Even if she took her leg off you would keep falling to one side. There's a lot of drawback marrying a woman like mucca, and after all that she would want all your money, well she would be out of luck with me cos Brooooooooon's took it all.
