‘STOP BUILDING MOSQUES IN UK’

CONTROVERSY: A huge mosque in Blackburn

Wednesday April 2,2008

By Tom Whitehead Home Affairs Correspondent

NO more mosques should be built in Britain, a member of the Church of England’s governing body said yesterday.

In comments likely to spark controversy, Alison Ruoff warned that more mosques could lead to sharia law becoming a reality in the UK.

In February, Ms Ruoff called for the Archbishop of Canterbury to resign over his apparent support for sharia law.

Last night the Church of England said of her latest outburst: “These are Alison’s personal comments, speaking as an individual.”

Ms Ruoff, a former magistrate and a member of the General Synod, said no more mosques should be built until Muslim states agree to stop persecuting Christians.

She said: “We are constantly building new mosques, which are paid for by the money that comes from the oil states.

“We have only in this country as far as we know, 3.5 to 4million Muslims. There are enough mosques for Muslims in this country. They don’t need any more.”

In the interview with Premier Christian Radio, she added: “We don’t need to have sharia law, which would come with more mosques imposed upon our nation.

“If we do not watch out, that would happen. If we want to become an Islamic state this is the way to go.

“You build a mosque and then what happens?

“You have Muslim people moving into that area, all the shops will then become Islamic, all the housing will then become Islamic and as the Bishop of Rochester has so wisely pointed out, that will be a no-go area for anyone else.

“They will bring in Islamic law. We cannot allow that to happen. “We are still a Christian country – we need to hold on to that.

“If we don’t watch out, we will become an Islamic state, it’s that serious.”

Ms Ruoff accepted that her comments were radical. She said: “I hope it is radical, we need radical thinking.”

But Inayat Bunglawala, of the Muslim Council of Britain, said her comments were more typical of a BNP member than someone from the Church. He said: “These are unfortunately very bigoted and, frankly, xenophobic remarks.

“There must be freedom for all communities and not just for some.  I think heads of the Church will be disgusted with the comments.”

A report by think-tank Christian Research last month said mosques in England and Wales will have more regular worshippers than Catholic churches in just 12 years.

Yes, what IS happening? Why won't somebody stand up for the Christians of our country?because they are all so damn scared and pathetic in case they are called racists. Is this what happened when Hitler started to invade - no, there was solidarity. Definitely no more mosques. My friend, when visiting the Middle Eas,t had her bible taken from her on the plane before she was allowed to disembark. How dare they!!

ONE FOR ONE

02.04.08, 12:20pm

I think they can keep their mosques in the UK, but the Muslim Countries in turn, let the Catholic, Church of England, every other religion, build their churchs, and temples in their Countries, without being harassed or threatened and left in peace to worship. I think this is a fair point.
If they disagree with that, bulldoze the lot of them to the ground and turn them into car parks.

BUNGLAWALA IS A GREAT ADVERT FOR THE BNP

02.04.08, 11:07am

Most people I believe agree with Alison Ruoff and dont want any Mosques in this country let alone more.
With this Bunglawala and his Muslim Council the BNP is looking more and more attractive to vote for as each day goes by.
Keep up the good work Bunglawala
