Diana WAS unlawfully killed

Tuesday April 8,2008

By Nicola McCafferty for express.co.uk

Princess Diana WAS unlawfully killed, a jury ruled today.

After six months - and 21 hours of deliberations - the inquest into her death returned a verdict of unlawful killing due to the grossly negligent driving of Henri Paul and the paparazzi.

The jury singled out Henri Paul’s drink driving as the main cause of the August 1997 crash in the Alma tunnel in Paris which also killed Dodi Al Fayed.

They added that had the Princess or lover Dodi worn seatbelts, they may not have died.

The inquest jury has now been dismissed after the six month trial and told they will never have to serve on a jury again.

Diana's sister, Lady Sarah McCorquodale left court at 4.50pm and got into a waiting black car without commenting to the waiting press.

She ignored members of the public who were shouting: “It is an MI5 cover-up.”

Mohamed Al Fayed, who appeared at the High Court to hear the verdict today, said in a statement he was “disappointed” at the verdicts, which would come as a blow to the “many millions” of his supporters around the world.

He said: "It has been a long fight.

"I'm not the only person who said they were murdered."

Mr Al Fayed - who has tirelessly campaigned that Princess Diana and Dodi were killed in a murder plot orchestrated by Prince Philip and the MI6 - said today's verdict did not change his theory.

He said: "I still believe that Prince Philip and the Queen hold valuable evidence but they were not questioned - no one should be above the law."

The Harrods tycoon added: "I still believe the MI6 know what happened."

He concluded: "Diana and Dodi were taken away at their prime of their life.

"I will always mourn their loss."

Former Metropolitan Police commissioner Lord Stevens welcomed the inquest verdicts as a “justification” of the inquiry he led into the deaths.

He said: "I just hope that this can bring closure to what has been a difficult matter for all.

"The jury were absolutely sure that there has been no conspiracy in this case.

"I just hope that now the people who died can rest in peace."

LETS HOPE SO HUEY..................

20.04.08, 12:58pm

Lets hope so Huey. Sad though that Diana will not be present in the physical body when William takes the throne she would have been so proud. I also think that Harry would make a great King he is so connected with people. Britain's next King should be like that of the european royals who are more in touch with the twentyfirst century that the British senior royals. I still would like to see traditions maintained but only for special occasions.

WHAT I CANNOT UNDERSTAND SUNSHINEGIRL15 IS .........

19.04.08, 8:40pm

What I cannot understand sunshinegirl15 is why the establishment seem so intent on foisting Camilla on a public that don't like, respect, or want her.

One minute you think to yourself they got rid of Diana (in their view to protect the monarchy) and then in the next minute it seems they want to help destroy it by having an ex-mistress as our future queen knowing full well that with her and Charles at the helm that they monarchy will be tainted if not doomed forever.

Charles is a selfish man as if he had any love for his mother and Queen plus respect for all the years that she has dedicated to her role he would do the decent thing and renounce his right to the throne letting William take the throne.

William is not that young now and his grandmother was only twentyone when she became queen. Better to have a King that is loved and respected than to have one that most people dis;ike and worst still with a wife most despise.
