MY SON WAS NOT DRUNK, SAYS HENRI PAUL’S MOTHER
SECONDS FROM DEATH: Henri Paul at the wheel with Diana in the back seat
By Tim Finan in Brittany
THE elderly mother of Paris Ritz driver Henri Paul said she was “deeply saddened” by the verdict.
Wiping away tears, Gisele Paul spoke of her despair at the jury branding her son a drunk and speeding driver who caused his own death and those of the Princess and her lover Dodi Fayed.
Speaking at her home in Lorient, Brittany, Mrs Paul, 74, said: “I had hoped that the jury would see reason but I am really not surprised that they have condemned Henri as the other two inquiries did.
“They should have taken into consideration the statements and the evidence that showed that the tests carried out on Henri’s blood were flawed and should have been dismissed as evidence. My son was not an alcoholic and he was not drunk at the wheel of the Mercedes. The verdict of the jury is not the truth.”
Gisele and her husband Jean have always maintained that the blood sample which showed their son to be three times over the limit, and which contained a massive level of carbon monoxide, did not come from Henri.
They claim the blood samples were either switched by unknown parties or mixed up by incompetent doctors who carried out the post mortem examination on their son and analysed his blood.
“How could my son have driven with 1.8 grammes of alcohol and 20 per cent carbon monoxide in his blood? It’s ridiculous,” said Mrs Paul.

I have been asking myself all of those questions.
If Henri Paul is to blame for the driving - why isn't Kes Wingfield and Trevor Rees Jones being charged with neglecting their duties?
They should have insisted that everyone in the car had seat belts on.
Will that happen?
No.
A man who cannot answer back is getting all of the blame, even though CCTV evidence shows he was not drunk, and there is no way he could drive with the alleged amount of carbon monoxide in his blood.
He is a scapegoat, which is disgusting. I feel so sorry for his parents, especially after 'Lord' Stevens told them he wasn't to blame last year.
I highlight 'Lord' because in my book Lords should be noble.
Is there anything noble about him??

WHY I DO NOT BELIEVE ANY OF THIS

I do not believe a professional chauffeur would drink.
I do not believe anyone would employ a chauffeur who drank.
I do not believe Diana and Dodi would get into a car driven by a drunk.
I do not believe the bodyguard would get into the car with a drunken chauffeur or allow his charges to get into the car.
So I do not believe ANY of the cover-up.

I AM STILL WONDERING...

Back in 1997, a few days after this horrible crash, I watched the news on French TV reporting briefly Henry Paul's burial in his home town. On one of the funeral wreath offered by his collegues, was a rubbon lettering saying
"We are not fooled Henri".
At the time, it immediately raised a question to
my mind : was this man REALLY drunk ???

If Henri Paul was as drunk as they say, why didn't the bodyguard step in and refuse to let him drive the car carrying Dodi and Diana?
Why didn't he insist that Dodi and Diana fasten their seat-belts?
Surely this was part of his duties?
There are still unanwered questions.
