TV'S CAMP COUPLE WED

Happy couple: Justin and Colin

Wednesday April 16,2008

Television design duo Colin and Justin have become husband and husband after tying the knot in a secret wedding.

The camp couple – famous for their bitchy comments and scathing remarks about people’s homes – jetted south for a civil partnership ceremony before flying off for a dream honeymoon in the Caribbean.

And the newlyweds have revealed they want to adopt children and dream of becoming parents.

They got hitched two months ago after 22 years together and spent a fortnight sunning themselves at an exclusive resort on the island of Nevis.

Just two close and trusted friends were at the service which was kept secret from Colin and Justin’s celebrity pals.

Colin, 40, revealed they got hitched on February 15 in Chelsea Old town Hall with all the arrangements kept strictly hush-hush.

Even their surnames, McAllister and Ryan, were kept from everyone involved in their big day.

But Glasgow-born art and design graduate Colin admitted he has no idea why it took them so long.

He said: “For some reason, we have never got round to making it legal. It’s probably because we have been so busy – we just haven’t had a day off in years.”

They quaffed champagne at a top restaurant in posh Sloane Square before tucking into a wedding lunch at one of London’s top eateries then heading for their dream honeymoon together.

The pair, who met as teenagers in a Glasgow gay club in 1986 and live together in the city’s West End, admit they hope to adopt children. But Justin fears it may never happen.

The 41-year-old, from Fort William, said: “We’d love children – but the child is the most important person in the family so we want to make sure everything would be perfect for them.

We are aware that a child in a two-dad relationship will come under scrutiny.”

He added: “At 35 in a heterosexual relationship you are too old to adopt. Add the gay quotient to that ... and who knows?”

Instead, the pair will concentrate on their broadcast careers after a string of hit shows on the small screen.
