Monday May 5,2008

A 49-year-old man is to appear in court charged with the murders of sister and brother Michelle and Ryan Thomson.

Ms Thomson, 25, and Ryan, seven, were found at their father's home in Buckhaven, Fife, on Saturday.

The man was detained by Fife Police on Monday in connection with the deaths. He will appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.

The victims' father, Robert Thomson, was discharged from Dunfermline's Queen Margaret Hospital on Monday.

He had been taken to the hospital for medical treatment following the discovery of the bodies at Muiredge Cottages.

Police said they were continuing to support the family and were working with counsellors to provide reassurance to the community.
