HAS SWEARING ON TV GONE TOO FAR?
Jonathan Ross
JONATHAN Ross has been rebuked for debasing broadcasting standards by making a vulgar suggestion on national TV to Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow that he would like to have sex with her.
Britain’s highest-paid television entertainer said he wanted to “****” married mother of two Ms Paltrow if his wife would give him permission.
His liberal use of the f-word on his recorded BBC1 chat show Friday Night With Jonathan Ross prompted gasps from the audience and the interview tone left Ms Paltrow, 35, speechless and looking shocked at times.
** IS SWEARING OUT OF CONTROL ON TV? VOTE NOW... **
The astonishing language – thought to be the first time a major film star has been spoken to in such a direct sexual way on television– has been heavily criticised by watchdog Mediawatch UK and an MP on the Commons culture and media select committee.
Did Jonathan Ross go too far?
Is it fair that licence fee-payers have to foot the bill for this type of programme?
Should Ross be warned to tone down his language in future?
OH YES IT HAS

We are allowing the "luvvies" to set our standards in society ..... in their attempt to "show it how it is" they have introduced every swear word known to man (and woman) onto the small screen.
Not only swear words but perversion as well, all this is seen by young people who now see it as the "norm" ... these "luvvies" have now debased our society ...... time to crack down on them ........ NOW

SWEARING ON TV

YES IT AS, and not just swearing, nothing is left to the imagination anymore it is all shoved in your face big time
and at nearly 70yrs old " I ain`t no prude " or a
Mary Whitehouse , the BBC hit rock bottom for me when
they paid J Ross was it £3million to join their staff,
they old time sort of comic did not need to swear and be openly vulgar and try to shock, the new law is now you cant joke with bar maids and you cant call people love or
dear, why should JR be allowed to get away with this sort of behaviour he should be sacked , they last time I heard JR years ago on the radio he made some crude remarks about a push in towel holder that put me off him for life

NO STANDARDS ANY MORE ....

Swearing has become so common place on TV that I am beginning to think that some people actually think it's trendy and somehow clever to assault the sensibilities of their audiences. We have sunk really low to allow this to happen, just as it happens on our streets with many people using swear words as every day language. It is offensive and if people do not have the vocabulary to speak without using these words then perhaps they should keep their mouths closed. We need to higher our standards all round, TV has certainly lowered theirs. When youngsters here this on TV from so called celebrities it gives credance then to this type of dreadful language and speach. It should be stopped.

..should never be allowed to 'front' a TV show, get rid of him. No wonder our children are growing up with every other word a swear word. Ms Paltrow should have got up and walked off the set.

ROSS SWEARING ON TV- THE PUBLIC ORDER ACT - DOES IT NO T APPLY ?
25.05.08, 12:00pm
If we swear in public we can be locked up by the police and I do not like swearing in public anyway so why should Ross get away with it on TV?. The BBC is a government run TV channel as are Dave BBC three and four, UK TV history and all other such channels, they are used to influence our political views. It is not a surprise to me that this situation is allowed, it seems like the old adage "DONT DO AS I DO - DO AS I SAY. This is typical of this current crop of dictators and is designed to confuse.
The public order act only applies to us, Jo public again, so Ross can defy the Law and we can think he is a hero and we will listen to him. as we do in such cases.
FOOTNOTE :
Everything this government does is along the same DO AS I SAY Line, they think we are fools there for the taking.
