AS ANOTHER BOY DIES, THE LAW GOES SOFT ON KNIVES

Tuesday May 13,2008

KNIFE CRIME is the scourge of modern Britain.

Dozens of people are murdered every year by thugs armed with blades. Another young man was stabbed to death on London’s Oxford Street yesterday.

Hundreds of others are being left scarred and traumatised. In some inner-city areas, barely a day goes by without
a hospital casualty department treating a victim for stab wounds.

The only way to rid the streets of knives is to make possession of them a very serious offence carrying a long prison term. But instead, Lord Chief Justice Lord Phillips and his Sentencing Guidelines Council propose just the opposite.

Their recommendation that possession of a blade may typically only merit a community service order or a
fine sends out a disastrous signal.

If hardcore hooligans believe they will probably get away without a custodial sentence even if they are caught red-handed with a knife, then they are much more likely to carry one.

Less serious offenders will, in turn, be more likely to arm themselves in anticipation of needing protection against such people.

And so the knife culture that has recently become established among young people in Britain will take an
even firmer hold.

Liberal judges and their fellow travellers are bringing law and order in this country into disrepute. Our streets will not become civilised and safe again until their influence is drastically curtailed.

AND THE PUNISHMENT GET LESS

13.05.08, 2:09pm

I learned today of a man being knifed to death in front of children in Torbay. Didn't even rate national news. A sixteen year old Alter boy killed over the weekend and a man in Oxford st knifed to death yestereday. But hey! don't worry, crime is dropping ??? says the Government.

Recently an OAP was sent to prison for not paying his council tax. What a thug. Give him 2o years. A hoodie carrying a knife will get a community order the first time, maybe a fine the second time. Our Lord chief Justice has suggested this. BUT if I stand up in court and call him a prat which is what he is, I would get at least 7 days imprisonment for contempt. Crazy, I should get 20 years like the OAP. I'm the law breaker and so is the OAP, the hoodie with the knife, leave him alone poor chap. He's just a misguided youth. Sorry did I say youth, try yob and then horsewhip the swine.

Why haven't we got the death sentence any more, because the government won't put it to a referendum, They dare not. they know what the result would be and they could without the inconvenience of fighting the do-gooders and and the PC brigade. As for our dear Lord Chief Justice - I think its long since time you resigned my lord, and take some of your pampering softies with you.
