Supercar: Caparo T1 Thursday May 15,2008 By Martin EvansTHE handcuffs will be on before crooks can spot this cop car in their rear view mirror. For the supercar, which looks more suited to a Formula One track than city streets, could soon be helping in the fight against crime. The 200mph Caparo T1 has been granted UK road-legal status and the Met is understood to be considering using them as the ultimate Rapid Response Vehicle. The two-seater, inspired by racing car aerodynamics, reaches 60mph in 2.5 seconds and 100 in under five. But at £235,000 each, it’s unlikely that the Caparo will be replacing the humbler squad car any time soon.
