The bluff and burly Northern TV chefs have applied to trademark their title on everything from restaurants to sausages, beers, kitchen utensils and even tweezers.

Dave Myers and Simon King travel the world on motorbikes in their BBC series as they rustle up local dishes in countries such as India and Morocco.

If they do decide to bring out commercial goods, they would be following in the footsteps of other celebrity chefs.

Jamie Oliver and Nigella Lawson already have their own range of kitchen utensils and Frenchman Jean-Christophe Novelli has created a range of ready meals under his own name.

However, when we encountered Dave, above left, at a charity dinner recently, he proved to be uncharacteristically
coy about details of thenew enterprise.

“It’s not something I can talk about until if and when things are up and running. It’s in its very early stages,” he told us.
