HAVE YOUR SAYDO YOU THINK FUEL TAX SHOULD BE CUT?Thursday May 22,2008 TODAY the Daily Express reported that drivers hitting the road this bank holiday will spend up to £110million more on fuel than last year. With diesel up by an astonishing 29 per cent and unleaded up 17 per cent year-on-year, motorists are finding it increasingly difficult to afford the soaring costs of driving a car.

If foreign lorries can fill up with cheap fuel in Calais and drive over here without paying for a driving licence or vehicle excise duty then they are at an unfair advantage with our hauliers. Brown's tax policy encourgages them to spend as much as possible in France (which only lines the French petrol station's profits and ensures that the tax payment goes to the French rather than us). That policy is plain stupid and anti-British. What we need to do is ensure that there is NO advantage in filling-up in France; that foreign drivers pay us a fair rate for a non-resident driving licence and that they also pay us for a temporary permit to drive their heavy vehicles on our roads. These foreign drivers should contribute to our economy if they want to drive on our roads, not bleed us dry.

FUEL TAX SHOULD BE CUT!!!

For all we call the French, I must admit I have the utmost respect for the way they stand up for their rights. What the hell has happened to the great British fighting spirit? Never have I known such a bunch of whimps with the backbone of an over ripe banana and as yellow. As with the proposed congestion charges, we have to band together and fight for our rights, and not expect someone else to do it for us, because that just won't happen. So to all you soft arses out there! DO SOMETHING, "NOW!!!"

Now that petrol is well past the £1.10 mark, you can guess that the next resistance point will be £1.50 ..... just watch how it slowly creeps up.
One thing I dont understand is why people still buy their fuel at small filling staions, where the price is generally 9 -10p more expensive per litre than the supermarkets.
The Goverment should cut its tax "grab" by 10 -15p per litre and then do what we all have to do cut its spending, I would suggest overseas aid is a good place to start.

NOT SUPPOSED TO THIS HIGH

Going by what the Gov't said in 1973. Petrol predictions at the time said that costs were supposed to go up at a certain percentage up to a certain price. can i say if that would of happened then we would now be paying £1.56 A GALLON.......
Scrap TAX discs, Place 40% TAX on Petrol. the more you use the more you pay and will probably make you think about driving the 200yds to the shops......

FUEL DUTY GORDON BROWN ALIAS "**** TURPIN HIGHWAY MAN"
26.05.08, 5:37pm
Otherwise the cost of living will become prohibative to 50% of the UK population
Has Gordon Brown the courage to inform the motorists/truck drivers of Great Britain how much revenue is raised daily by fuel duty?
Has he courage to inform them how that revenue is spent?
or does he still cling on to the same arrogance he as had since 1997 when he single handed robbed every pensioner in the UK ? he has frittered away the £11 billion per annum he has stolen and is now unable to rectify this terrible deed he has inflicted
HE HAS TO GO!!!!!!!!!
