Trinidad and Tobago sports minister Gary Hunt is confident the international friendly against England on June 1 will go ahead as planned after productive talks aimed at ending a contractual dispute.

The row stemmed from the government's demands to the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) for use of the Hasely Crawford Stadium - with the TTFF threatening legal action after claiming they were different to what had been previously agreed.

But Hunt has now held discussions with TTFF president Oliver Camps and special advisor Jack Warner and told the Trinidad Express: "The government has entered in talks with the TTFF with a position that we would like the game to go on."

He added: "They (the TTFF) are willing (to talk).

"There is legal posturing, but they are willing. That is the impression left with me."
