The 29-year-old defender was one of Paatelainen’s first signings when he penned a three-year contract in late January after his arrival from French outfit Gueugnon. 

Paatelainen freely admitted he had not seen the 26-capped left-back in live action, only in DVD footage, yet he landed in Edinburgh with a strong reputation. 

However, after his debut was delayed due to work permit complications, Zarabi soon looked less than comfortable.

Zarabi made just eight appearances - the last in a 1-1 draw at Dundee United on April 20 - and his short Hibs stay has now come to an end.
