HUCKNALL steps into some serious shoes here, attempting a tribute album to his idol Bobby Bland, the Tennessee R&B great.

Bland’s silky growl is inimitable and Mick is wise to avoid even the slightest modification of his own voice but retains something of the magic of I Pity The Fool, Cry, Cry, Cry and I’m Too Far Gone through clever arrangements: brassy, tough but with a contemporary sheen.
