TERRY WOGAN MAY QUIT EUROVISION SONG CONTEST
Sir Terry Wogan said Eurovision 'was no longer a music contest'

EUROVISION Song Contest commentator Sir Terry Wogan said he may quit the competition following another embarrassing defeat for the UK entry.
Sir Terry, who has been the BBC’s Eurovision commentator since the Seventies, cast doubt on his role last night after he said that prospects for Western European participants were “poor”.
X-factor contestant Andy Abraham finished in last place with just 14 points for his song Even If, while winning entry Dima Bilan of Russia was awarded a massive 272 points with a song produced by US R&B star Timbaland.
Sir Terry said the 43-year-old former bin man gave a “blinding performance” and deserved more points.
“It’s a disappointment, considering that Andy Abraham gave, I think, the performance of his life with a song that certainly deserved more marks than it got,” he said.

He added: “You have to say that this is no longer a music contest.”
“I have to decide whether I want to do this again. Western European participants have to decide whether they want to take part from here on in, because their prospects are poor.”
Today showbusiness legend Bruce Forsyth said: “I agree with him. It’s not a song contest any more, it’s political.
“It’s all so biased, it’s developed into a farce. I’ve stopped watching it, the last couple of years.”

Asked about the future of the show, he quipped: “As long as they don’t ask me to do it, I don’t care!”
Pop svengali Simon Cowell said: “If people enjoy it as entertainment, that’s great, but it’s all a bit empty and meaningless as a competition.”
Public relations guru Max Clifford commented: “Terry Wogan is spot on. It’s all about politics and block voting and nothing to do with the merits of a song.
“It’s like having a World Cup where the results are worked out in political terms and it’s got nothing to do with who scores the most goals.”
Sir Terry spoke out near the end of his commentary after Britain’s entry Andy Abraham had a disappointing night in the 53rd contest held in the Serbian capital of Belgrade.
Last night’s contest was due to be watched by more than 100 million television viewers across Europe.

Yeah right - by the time it rolls around again, he'll have forgotten all about that.
It's far too lucrative for him to give up!

you should be so lucky" Terry at a pause in a particularly Bulkern wedding tune. He cracks me up :-)
Eurovision has been political for at least 10 years. Good ol' Terry is why we watch it, and to see the UK get nil points.

This manipulated and biased voting is a foretaste of the fate awaiting us in an EU Super State dominated by countless Eastern European former Soviet satellites. They will always gang up on us. We will always be out-voted. We will always lose. That's democracy in the EU.
Lets STOP now, lets get out.

Regardless of voting, Terry Wogan and all the artists, surely it's a load of old coblers! Not worth looking at.

please tell me you heard Spains entry...... absolute bo**ocks in every possible way yet it got more points than our great song... Eurovision is a farce, a sham and considering Alex Ferguson's comments ref Spain and Franco don't be too surprised if it transpired that they pulled votes again. Just like they did in 1968 with their abyssmal 'Lalala'
