TERRY NAMED ENGLAND CAPTAIN
John Terry has been made England skipper
By Julia White for express.co.uk
CHELSEA'S John Terry has regained his captain's armband for England's friendly against USA at Wembley tomorrow.
The Chelsea defender was skipper under Steve McClaren but was overlooked by new manager Fabio Capello for the last match in France in favour of Rio Ferdinand.
Capello will name a permanent captain for the start of the World Cup qualifiers in the autumn but his decision comes as a boost to Terry following his crucial penalty miss in last week's Champions League final.
Giving a press conference today Capello said: "It's a good decision for John Terry after Wednesday. He played very well. I told him he'll be the captain and he was very, very happy.
"It's very important to be a leader and John Terry's a leader."

John Terry deserves to be made Captain, he deserves it. It goes without saying, his attitude and the way he plays 90/120 minutes, I always find him a very smart foot-ball player highly professional and wish god will bless him and the rest of the team till I see them winning the foot-ball world cup I really mean….because even england isn’t in Euro2008 I still believe they got the best team ever which need a bit of trust. I believe Capello should work hard on « the Rooney area of the game »
