SHORTS have enjoyed renewed popularity over the past few seasons and they are back on the fashion agenda this summer.

This time around there is a plethora of styles to choose from. Take your pick from city and safari styles to culottes and cocktail shorts.

City shorts were a big hit last year and they remain the most popular style this season. They appeared on the catwalk with cuffed hems at Matthew Williamson and Karen Walker.

Safari-style shorts have been given a retro makeover, with slick, tailored designs at Givenchy and Emporio Armani.  Culottes were reinvented at Chanel and Temperley with high waists.

PPQ and Preen transformed shorts into desirable eveningwear with silk cocktail styles. But it’s the mini style that has really wooed the fashion pack.
